London... almost!!!

oh this def goes into my blog... or so i thawt on me way back....

london!!! no ... let me correct that... central london... for london consists of a lot of places that don sound one bit like wat i was abt to call it... yes london... the very word that makes it look.. magnificent!!! ... no really... it is... an architects dream.. its as if they had to make each and every buildin a beauty... every where they had to erect these beautiful towers and lankmarks and stuff... everywhere it had to amazing...

no.. really... london is amazin.. it is... take the underground for example.. da most complicated and the mos old network of the world... and.... 90 out of a 100 days it works like its suppozed to... u don get that in a lotta places.... no u dont...

so... there i was ... goin to london on eid (our version of xmas!!!)... to attend a conference on emotional intelligence... wat that is ... i shall come to a lil later...

havin reached london an hour earlier i decided to giv it a bit of sighting.... needed to get off at embankment but decided to get off at charing cross... that wud giv me a nice lil walk throo trafalgar sq and right where i want... and i may get into westminister abbey and alll dat stuff as well.... aaa.... the thawts that ran in ma head as i got off the underground tube...

but voila... as soon as i go from underground to regular ground.. its not that pretty... rainin.. and dark... sighs i thawt!!! ... for it was not wat we wanted.. no preciuss... it wasnt... sneaky lil weather... heheh.. but cmon... u hav to expect that from london !!!

so i come across these pale buildins... which didn loose their brilliance at all.. even in dark... and i
saw an art gallery boastin monart to picasso... gotta see this i thawt!!!

now i am no art geek.. but me lady is... and i was missin her... as plain as dat... so i entered the place... more for her than for meself... and 10 minutes later... i was out... nah... art didn impress me.. and they had too lil of picasso.. and all NORMAL paintins.. and too many ppl... cudn pay attention really... !!!

so out i come... decide to take a walk towards my dest... now in the right direction it wudda been 10 minutes.... however... i kept goin round in circles... cudda been worse.. i may hav ended up nowhere.. atleast every 10 minutes i reached the same old place... !!! its so easy to get lost in the dark u know... specially wen u don hav a map and jus start walkin !

finally, i had had it... so i took the tube to where i wanted ot be... 90 seconds and iw as there... i get out... in front of river thames... lookin at all those glowin buildins.. da london eye... and head towards savoy place... the home of IEE/IET...

if it wasn pissin... i wudda taken a bitta walk... that is a gud place ard there... !!! but it was so i struggled to get there... and inside i had me glasses all wet as i was asked by reception where i wanted to be... luckily the words came out all right and i did get where i wanted to be... a nice warm hall, loadsa free coffees n cookies to eat... and loads of ppl comin in...

this is mo like it i thawt... its amazin this was my 1st real trip to london since i had moved to england 10 months back... i hav been here b4.. but only to the suburbs... !!!
anyways... so i attended the conference... tried to socialize wid a few youngsters there... and got out...

the lights attracted me once again.. but aah it was late... 10ish already... not taht i was in a rush.. but somhow i felt tired... go home... !!! a voice within me said... the reason... don get lost !!! alas.. it was right... and not many ppl were abt too... it being a workin day ... !!! so i get on the train and head home...

but there it was... a half day travel ... the cause to attend the conference was fulfilled... but not the cause to hav fun or be a tourist...

london shall hav to wait... !!! i thawt... as i got off at mk central... and drove ma car home!!!!!!!!!!!
